Teaching in the public-school setting has been a passion for over 20 years. The second half of my career I have been able to focus on early literacy and intervention for struggling and beginning readers. I established and ran Learning Centers at different schools, pinpointing student needs through the regular use of diagnostic reading assessments and developing targeted lessons to address those needs. Regularly sharing the progress with students and their families contributes to my students’ transformation and motivation to learn.
